Need More Rare Weapons
Will Anet please add more rare weapon skins to the game. We had Voltaic Spears, VS farm nuff said. Pyroclastic Axes, VS farm. I personally dont like Stygian Reavers but thats me. Chaos axes are over used as are Mursatt hammers.
I would like to see more items like Eternal Shields and Obsidian Edge's but in other weapons because they look sweet and are rare. Because really who doesnt want their character to look totally fly?

meh im two handed in this, even if they give a new items people will just figure out a new way to farm it fast, they arent really focusing a lot of attention on GW1 atm but if they did another design-a-weapon contest they can get a lot of good ideas without expending a lot of resources. on the other hand this will give players more chance at e-peen if they so do desire.

I think another design a weapon contest would be a great idea to find some new rare weapons.

Another set of 5-10 weps would be nice, but they need to find some way to make it not easy to farm like every thing else soo they dont end up like every thing else, but that would take time that dosent need to be spent in gw1.

Maybe make a new set of skins exclusive to DoA end chests (add 1 gold drop in NM, and 2 in HM to make it more like a dungeon), or to the deep/urgoz. These areas need a serious buffing to regain interest.

hers a couple ideas ive kicked around since sorrows furnace was released. greens were implemented and were quickly over farmed. same goes for the rare golds, perfect example ele swords. heres what i was knockin around.
1. make bosses random spawns as long as they are not quest essential. theres nothing saying woe spreader needs to be tied to that same tree for time eternal.
2. randomly remove bosses for a couple months at a time and replace them with a different unique green dropping boss. id think this would at least keep the demand relatively solid.
3 as for truley rare golds make them monster specific. also make THAT monster rare in itself. spread them out and make it a haul off the beaten path simply to get to it. it would create better groups and a more goal specific objective.
i love farmin and doin the solo thing but id be the first to yell yipee if they made rare items actualy...... well rare. this isnt to say that ya cant have some very nice gear thats easy enough to reach for the less agriculturaly motivated, but as i said i like the idea of that elusive item that takes a crew of 8 to battle the hordes to get, and sometimes die trying. but thats just me.

There are TONS of weapons out there. Overfarming and the inscription system has kill the price of everything. However, cool weapons does not mean "really expensive." If you want ZOMG look at how rich I am items, you are playing the wrong game.
I only sorta agree with you with spears and scythes since they have SO few skins compared to the other weapons in the game.

Add more rare weapons and people will just find more clever ways to farm them.

Agreed.
Question though, do those whose weapons are chosen in the design contests actually GET that weapon as a prize? Seems only fair that they do since they designed it in the first place.

If add water to a bottle and never take water out (not een with evaporation), you get the bottle filled sooner or later, no matter how slowly you add the water.
Same happens with Weapon skins. Since there are no items sinks for them and customization sucks for most of them, those items stay available for trades at all times and fill the market.
You don't fix that adding more skins that will also suffer the same issue sooner or later. You fix that by changing customized items to be more tasty compared to not customized ones (and creating a customization for offhand items too) and/or by FORCING every single item to be customized in order to be able to equip it, just like with armor.
You want to sell it, you keep it without customization. You want to use it? You customize it, just like armor.
Not much people would like that, but believe me, it will work better than just adding more skins.
Needless to say, new skins are always welcomed, tho.

this, but it would mean customizing something would make it useable on ALL characters across your account, (and this means whammos will finnally hit for +35% damage with their fell blade in ra, which is always a good things)

/signed for new weapons. make them drop from new monsters (no z chest, its overfarmed as is) that have combo skill bars that will combat the meta farming builds. (sig of disenchant for example to combat permas) put them in areas with a lack of play right now, prof and factions. do it similar to the icebreaker hammer, but make it a more random spawn. maybe from shiroken things with song of the mists to combat up close farming. it wouldnt be that hard to put them in areas where its difficult to navigate without a decent team.
as for what type of weapon, one of each maybe, but the real money from players comes from caster weps, so one handed probably would be best.

This usually comes whenever there's a design-a-weapon contest. On the other hand though, there's a lot of rare skins that you never see being sold in kamadan, storm daggers come to mind. I've been trying to get my hands on a pair of those for awhile, but nobody has them. Also this other axe.. it's a big gold one that gets broad at the end, i forget the name, but theres another more rare less-heard-of one. At least less heard of than voltaics obsidian edges etc.

I agree, its too hard to compensate for my real life shortcomings with Guild Wars' limited number of prestige items.

Where to put the weapons? Elite Areas only, or HM only drops. Would keep them more prestigious as well.
Perhaps adding new bosses similar to how Rotscale is set up *very tough with strong mob* and the *.O.X.'s. And have the new uniques drop from them.
If they simply add bosses, only work needed would be names, builds, and placing them. They could easily use existing skins.
Also:
Greens should be made rare. Remove all non-end game/elite greens from Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. Then put some back in that will act like the Prophecies greens (that drop from a type of monster in one area instead of dropping from a boss).
Although, a bit too late for that. Greens are meant to be unique, not "every single boss in existence has a weapon named after them." Players>Random Green Drop>Bosses. So why don't we have the ability to put our character's name on a weapon like we can put mods on them... This is off-topic though.
Not to mention more armors would be nice. Have equal numbers of armors and all... Design-an-Armor-contest.
I am against e-peenery, but I am pro-customization and differences of characters.
